JOIN THE NUJ

If you are based in Belgium and your work is in English – as a journalist (staff and freelance), reporter, writer, editor or copywriter, or as a photographer or illustrator, or in PR/comms or presenting – you may be eligible to join the National Union of Journalists (UK & Ireland), one of the largest independent journalists’ unions in the world. Overall benefits of the NUJ for all working journalists include protection at work, a commitment to better pay and conditions, legal advice, strong support for press freedom, and professional training, plus the opportunity to socialise and network with fellow members.

You must first submit your application directly to the National Union of Journalists HQ, London. If you are then accepted as an NUJ member, you have the option of becoming a member of the Brussels branch of the NUJ, one of three NUJ branches in Continental Europe.
